The Preußische Central-Bodenkredit AG, a major German mortgage bank of the early twentieth century, purchased the property at Unter den Linden 26 in 1913 and hired the architects Bielenberg & Moser to design a prestigious banking house in the Late Wilhelminian style to serve as its head-quarters in the imperial capital.
