Façade

Clad in Franconian coquina — shell limestone —, the façade features four massive channeled columns set before the recessed central section of the wall and stretching from the first to the third upper floors. The gable with four statues originally surmounting the Ionic capitals fell victim to the ravages of World War II. The remainder of the ensemble, however, survived virtually unscathed.
